We're Designers Who Took on The Challenge of the Century
Simba Education is a social business. We exist to improve lives and leave the world better than we met it. Since 2017, we have designed solutions to improve access to quality early childhood education in Southern Africa. We have designed a web-app to support and create a unique experience for teachers, a preschool based on using our app and other tech to prepare kids for the jobs and world of the future, events and networks to foster peer-to-peer learning and textbooks that celebrate the best of Africa.

It all started with a challenge.

Around the globe more than 100 million children living in urban low-income areas do not have access to quality early childhood education and 60% are in sub-Saharan Africa. According to UNESCO, in low- and middle-income countries, the poorest children are 4 times less likely to go to school than the richest, 5 times less likely to complete their primary school education and 6 times less likely to be able to read. Realising this was 'our moment of obligation.' We met preschools kids and teachers from affluent, middle-income and low-income communities to immerse ourselves in the challenge. We learnt that educating Africa's future calls innovative, creative solutions that give every child an equitable chance. We began to design solutions, not just for the disadvantaged but for every child.
